What is a YWAM DBS?

Are you considering joining a YWAM DBS Discipleship Bible School? Whether you’ve just finished a DTS, you’re taking a gap year, or you’re hungry for a deeper relationship with God, a DBS is an incredible way to grow and solidify your faith.

At YWAM Experience Asia, our DBS invites students to dive deep into the Bible, discover the heart of God, and explore His big story—together in community.

What can I expect when I join a YWAM DBS? What is a DBS? It’s a Bible school!

1. What is a YWAM DBS

In a YWAM DBS, the Bible is your main textbook. Over 12 weeks, you’ll read through the entire Bible chronologically, learn how to study it for yourself, understand its big-picture story, and apply it to your life.

We don’t just study alone—we do it in small reading groups, with discussion, snacks, and laughter thrown in!

2.Which DBS should I do?

There are YWAM DBS schools all around the world, but we think you should come to YWAM Experience Asia! Why?

3. What is a normal day like in a YWAM DBS?DBS Class

Every YWAM DBS has a rhythm. A typical weekday might include:

  • Morning worship or intercession

  • Teaching from experienced speakers

  • Bible reading and small group discussions

  • Assignments (around 8 per week)

  • Chill time and community life

  • Local outreach (usually one afternoon a week)

It’s full but life-giving—and we’re happy to send you a sample schedule if you’d like!

3. Is there an outreach for Discipleship Bible School?

Yes! During the week, you’ll have opportunities to engage in local outreach in our city. After the school, there’s an optional 4–6 week outreach in Southeast Asia, where you can put what you’ve learned into action. Our last DTS outreach also was in South East Asia.

4. Where will I live?

You’ll live in community with other students and staff from around the world. Our accommodation is simple, clean, and comfortable, and it’s where we cook, learn to embrace different cultures, serve together—and have fun.

5. How do I apply for a Discipleship Bible School, DBS?

Our YWAM DBS is open to anyone who’s completed a DTS and wants to pursue God wholeheartedly. Whether you’re called to missions, church ministry, or just want a solid foundation in the Bible, DBS is the next step.
